JS Frontends are like Desktop Apps

I noticed a trend recently, among developers, that we need to learn how
to work with JS frontends. Obviously, it's great that people want to
improve their skills, but is it really something new that we need to
learn?

I suppose, that many of us at some point have been working on a desktop
application. Was it a Java Swing app or a .NET Windows Forms or maybe
Delphi app, doesn't matter that...
